The School of Wonder

The School of Wonder podcast is a place to gather inspiration and learn from a wide range of authors, artists, coaches and teachers. What they all have in common is the ability to teach us how to be more brave, feel more alive and treat ourselves (and others) with more compassion. Andrea Scher - best known for her award-winning blog Superhero Journal - is passionate about the sweet spot where creativity and personal growth intersect.

Busy pursuing a career in Acting in Vancouver, life took a massive turn when Sarah became pregnant with her first son. Her spirit called her- rather forced- her into nature. Upon submersion into solitude and the quiet country life she discovered her authentic writing voice and began creating the podcast series ‘Live Awake’ (August 2015-current). She has since given birth to her second son and attributes much of her creativity and insights to becoming and being mother.

Make music with the love of your life. (The Weepies) Sell a million records. Tour the world. Have 3 kids. Get Stage 3 breast cancer. Survive.

Now what?

“I had to make this record, for me,” says Deb Talan, best known as the girl from the folk pop duo The Weepies. “Marriage, children, being in a band – if you do any of that, at some point you start to wonder what part is still you. And then I got cancer, with a brutal treatment and surgery, and then full recovery. And as lucky as I am with all of that, I just felt lost. This project has been a way to reclaim a part of myself.”

The 13 gorgeous songs that make up Deb Talan’s new record LUCKY GIRL, released this year on Nettwerk Records, are an exploration featuring Deb’s pop sensibility, her signature confessional writing, and of course her unmistakable voice.
